Supporting Well-Being and Economic Mobility in the Chicagoland Region
Our Values
Empathy and Respect. We put the worth and dignity of all individuals at the center of our work.
Trust and Partnership. We can only do this work in true collaboration; we listen to our partners and trust them to lead.
Reflection and Excellence. We take informed risks in service of impact and are committed to continuous learning.
Our Core Beliefs
All individuals deserve equal access to opportunity.
We have a duty to use our resources to even the playing field and meet the needs of the least of our brethren.
We all have something to contribute.
By investing in individuals and families today, future generations will lead more fulfilling lives.
Funding Priorities
Early Childhood
Improve and expand the healthy development, care, and education of children aged 0 – 5 in under-resourced communities where access to high-quality, affordable care and education are not equitably distributed.
K-Postsecondary
Ensure a student experience and ecosystem of supports that lead to improved academic performance, postsecondary retention and completion, and student well-being.
Health
Enhance access to high-quality, culturally-competent physical, mental and behavioral health care, with a focus on under-resourced communities.
Housing
Provide transitional shelter and build better options for safe and affordable rental and home-ownership opportunities, especially for people who have been historically denied access, to create more vibrant and inclusive communities.
Immigrant Justice
Advance immigrant justice by recognizing any person seeking a better future deserves access to fundamental human rights and economic mobility.
Lake County
Foster inclusive and engaged communities, making Lake County a great place for individuals and families.
Philosophy
“I always thought you should fight injustice wherever you found it—for as long as you found it.”
