Josselyn
Josselyn provides inclusive mental health care for anyone in need, especially people who’ve historically had difficulty accessing it. Their work is deeply aligned with Schreiber Philanthropy’s values, and the organization has been in our portfolio since 2017. While based in northern Cook County, Josselyn recognized the deep need for services in Lake County. As a result, Schreiber Philanthropy helped support their expansion to Waukegan in 2019. The timing couldn’t have been better, as the need for culturally-competent mental health services skyrocketed in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. Since that expansion, the demand Josselyn’s services in Lake County has increased even more. The organization continues to expand its staff in Waukegan, and – in 2023 – Schreiber Philanthropy helped support the organization’s expansion to Western Lake County. We also worked together to launch an innovative workforce cultivation effort, designed to provide student loan repayment for mental health-related master’s degree Josselyn employees working in Lake County.
